Florbela Espanca (December 8, 1894 – December 8, 1930) was a celebrated Portuguese poet known for her profound and emotive literary contributions. Espanca‘s work is renowned for its lyrical beauty, exploring themes of love, melancholy, and existential reflection. Her poetry, marked by its emotional depth and innovative use of language, has earned her a lasting place in Portuguese literary history. In 1925, her collection “Livro de Mágoas” was published, showcasing her unique voice and poetic prowess.
